Maximising the benefits of being a CITB-registered employer
The biggest frustration of being a member of the CITB continues to be the number of registered CITB employers that are positively active in training but fail to claim what they are entitled to from the CITB. There are NO rules in place to stop an employer from claiming 10 times the amount of financial assistance than they pay in the levy. The systems and procedures when dealing with the CITB can be bureaucratic at times, but there is a network of Engagement Advisors, covering all of the UK waiting and wanting to help you.
The CITB offers support to train your new and existing construction staff in the form of financial benefits, information, advice, and guidance funded through the collection of the Industrial Training Levy.
- The CITB Levy (not the Governments Apprenticeship Levy)
The Grant Scheme - Short-duration training grants
- Qualification grants
- Apprenticeship grants
Funding Streams - Skills & Training Fund for small/micro-sized employers – 1 to 99 PAYE staff
- Skills & Training Fund for medium-sized employers – 100 to 249 PAYE staff
- The Leadership & Management Fund for large employers – 250+ PAYE staff
Additional CITB support – Construction Training Groups, CITB Engagement Advisors
