Thank You!

We are almost at the end of your leadership journey.

We should now have defined and understood the tools and techniques that we can use, as leaders, to positively impact the levels of ownership, accountability, and responsibility we see within both the individuals on our team and the team as a whole.

What excuses do we make for our lack of accountability, and how can we reframe these excuses as leaders and managers?

We also looked at the importance self-esteem plays in our ability to get out of our way to take ownership of our success and that of the people we manage and lead.

Remember this: Building Self-Esteem within your business and team is your number one goal as a leader.

Keep updating your START, STOP and CONTINUE plan (Pages 43-48) depending on your workbook. This live document will be the cornerstone of creating your personal and professional development plan.

YOUR NO-EXCUSE QUESTIONS

1. What exactly is the problem?

People couldn’t even clearly articulate what the problem was. If they can’t even get to the root of the problem, how will they ever come up with a solution? This first question helped people to begin to think through issues on a much deeper level.

2. What do you recommend that you do about that problem?

Please note what we say. We don’t say what you recommend that “I” do about the problem. We put it back on them. What do they recommend that “they” do about the situation? With this question, we are conditioning ultimate responsibility. In some cases, we still needed to get involved; however, in many cases, people were more than capable of solving the problems themselves.

3. Lastly, are you empowered to put that solution in place?

With this third question, we are helping people understand that they were much more empowered than they thought. Sometimes people need to be reminded of this fact.

We look forward to bringing all our learning together in session seven and focusing on our development plans.

Have a fantastic day.
